I
was taught to knit by my maternal grandmother at a very early
age. This occurred many, many, snowy moons ago in another
land, another time zone, as well as, another era. My early
years were spent on the shores of the Baltic Sea with an educated
and loving father and grandmother. An educated and proud mother.
I spend many hours knitting. If my fashions could talk they
would tell of my peaceful childhood, flower gardens, tradition.
Then WW II, Detention Camps. Displaced Persons Camps. Immigration
to the USA. Citizenship. My own family. A productive life.
Loss. And knitting. Again !
Knitting taught to me so very long ago has gotten me through
the best, the worst and the mundane of life's offerings. I
hope you enjoy wearing my garments as much as I enjoy creating
them.
